NXP and Beijing Automotive Group Co. Enter Strategic Partnership for Digitalization of Vehicle Technologies and IoT-based Security Applications

      Beijing, September 7th, 2019 – NXP Semiconductors N.V. (NASDAQ: NXPI), a market leader in automotive semiconductors, today announced they plan to collaborate with Beijing Automotive Group Co., Ltd. ("BAIC"). The two parties intend to collaborate on developing and commercializing automotive digital technologies and Internet of Things (IoT)-based security systems.  In addition, the cooperation will revolve aroundsecure car access, car sharing, cloud services, ADAS and battery management.

      Kurt Sievers, President of NXP Semiconductors and a member of the German business delegation to China, signed the MOU with Xu Heyi, Party Head and Chairman of the BAIC Group, in Beijing. This collaboration between NXP and BAIC furthers a broad-based partnership between China and the EU ,which is initiated by Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.  The MOU was signed during German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s official visit to China.
